Which is why the historical city center of Riga was included in the UNESCO world heritage site. Nowadays Riga center is slowly but steadily transforming into a modern city. Hopefully, in 2025 Riga center will be fully connected with a fast and environmentally friendly rail connection to Europe. The project is called Rail Baltica.
